Writing is The Easy Part! -Part 6

Part 6 “Read, re-read, and then read it aloud to yourself to hear if it flows”

I wake up in the middle of the night so excited, I just came up with a great story idea!  Try to write as much down as possible, before you for…get….th….stor…… dammit, I already forgot it!

Next morning, I type and type and it seems effortless and easy!   My typing cannot keep up with my thoughts and ideas!

Okay, now, let’s save this and then read what I wrote. Oh no, as I read what I wrote I can instantly see what needs fixing. Now THAT  should do it!

Let’s re-read it to be sure!

Arrrgghhhh….I overfixed what I was looking to fix, let’s do a few brief adjustments and check spelling and grammar and now it is perfect!

Hold on…

…I am going to read this aloud to myself and see how it flows.

Uh, nooo… this is when you realize where the sentences are dragging and that the paragraph in front of you needs to be broken down into two paragraphs.

That’s it! Editing can be with a red pen, can be done by an Editor and then it also can be done by just reading your story out loud to yourself.

Read, re-read and then read it out loud.
