Writing is the easy part! — Part 3

Part 3  “Less run-on sentences Deb!” “… but I love them!”

What does my editor mean that I like to do run-on sentences, I mean, I am telling my story, I am getting my point across, and I am using commas so the reader can breath in between my points.

Who determined what a run-on sentence is anyway?  I speak in a New York tone, meaning that I can talk very fast and get a lot across in a very short time, and after all, time is precious, so why not get out as much as I can, as fast as I can, in as many ways as I can?

Take for instance someone with a southern drawl.  They talk slower and take their time to use diction in each word, pronounce each word correctly, putting the right emphasis on the right syllable.

I, however, need to rattle off entire thoughts, whether there is punctuation in there or not, I don’t care, well, it’s not that I don’t care, I care, it’s just this is the way I talk, and it’s not like it’s hard to understand what I am saying, you just need to keep up, even though I do talk fast and write as fast as I talk, I mean I type about 130 words per minute, but anyway, my point here is, so folks talk fast and cover a lot of ground – while others talk slower and are more succinct, however, you are looking for an escape route half way through their dissertation.

Yeah, I’m okay with run-on sentences.
